Playlist: Best Of 2015

g-dropreetings, this is my new blog. I hope to use this as a platform to write about design and music, share playlists and WIPs, as well as use a longer format to highlight thinking and details around launches of new projects.

Back in 2008, a bored 23 year old, full of piss and vinegar and passion for independent music, wanted to explore a new medium to him: web design and development. After hours of self taught coding and wordpress tutorials, I created the music blog SeizureChicken.com. I posted an ad on craigslist looking for writers, which could have been the groundwork for a horror film plot – but it ended up working out. I only got into 1 fight at a bowling alley.

I met some great people and some of those people were able to get jobs with help from our work at seizure chicken. For the next 3 years we created a daily destination for people across the globe to scope new music and read about our DIY antics. From running the blog, we got into show promoting and booking and became a part of Milwaukee’s amazing music scene. We were able to curate showcases and bring attention to bands we were excited about.

SC is since defunct (we actually let the domain renewal lapse and it turned into a blackhole of the internet selling vacuums and hairnets. I feel like it was a fitting end to the whole thing, really). Now it’s 2016 and I live in New York City. Music is still the greatest source of inspiration for me. So, I’d like to share some of that inspiration with you.

So, here it is. The “Best” of 2015, as curated by myself and developer, Joe Salvatori.

1000 bonus; Here are the past year’s playlists as well:
